AOM Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

As part of the Academy of Management’s mission to build a vibrant and supportive community of scholars, AOM regularly hosts conferences and other events. These meetings are essential opportunities to build connections. However, as a professional association, we are also committed to the health and safety of our members, and we are always vigilant about monitoring the local conditions where these events are held.

COVID-19 is a developing situation and AOM is monitoring it closely. We plan to keep you regularly informed and updated of the status of AOM conferences and other events.

Please note the following:

  • The AOM Specialized Conference Advancing Management Research in Latin America in Mexico City 15-17 April 2020 is CANCELLED. We are thankful to all submitters and registrants for their support and we are immensely grateful to the organizers and our many AOM volunteers who have worked tirelessly to produce this very meaningful conference. It is with a heavy heart that we relay this message but it is now inadvisable and impossible to hold this conference. We hope that one day in the future we might be able to hold a specialized conference in Latin America.

  • Some AOM journal workshops have been postponed. Members are referred to the for further information.

  • Divisions and Interest Groups (DIGS) occasionally hold grassroots conferences in varying locations. For the status on individual DIG conferences, please visit the respective .

CAREER SERVICES

AOM's first Global Virtual Career Fair was a success!

AOM held its first Global Virtual Career Fair on 26 February. Multiple faculty and administrators from 10 institutions discussed current openings with over 100 candidates via video, audio, and real-time chat over the course of the day.

How did it work? Recruiting teams selected their available timeslots. Candidates were able to ‘jump’ into various chat rooms and interact either publicly or privately with the representatives from the institutions. Recruiters discussed their hiring process and new faculty expectations, while candidates had the opportunity to ask questions. AOM staff was also on hand, hosting a chat room where they answered Career Services questions and provided advice on how to prepare to interview during the Annual Meeting.

Next up – AOM's second Virtual Career Fair in Fall 2020. Stay tuned!
